Qualifications
2025 Sports Therapy BsC (Hons)
What influenced you to study and practice Sports Therapy?
I was inspired to study sports therapy as I used to play football at an academy level when I was younger and injured a ligament in my knee. I saw the club physio/ sports therapist for treatment and it really helped me get back to full fitness, becoming stronger than before which fingers crossed I have had no knee problems since.
Where did you study Sports Therapy?
Yeah, So I studied at the University of Winchester for 3 year gaining a BSc in Sports Therapy. During this time I did placement in a variety of places including a private physiotherapy clinic, a private osteopathy clinic as well as working with a basketball team and finally working at the Reading Half Marathon event supporting the runners. Overall I accumulated over 200 hours of contact team across all of these different placement opportunities helping me shape my treatment style.
What is your treatment style?
My treatment style is a very hands-on approach, focusing directly on the area causing your symptoms while also looking beyond the immediate site of pain. I believe it’s essential to assess and treat the joints and structures above and below the injury to fully understand how your body is moving and compensating. Often, pain in one area can be influenced by restrictions, weakness, or imbalances elsewhere.
Tell us something about yourself
Away from the clinic I enjoy playing football or golf as well as switching out the therapy gloves for the tongs and spatula and getting stuck into the BBQ. I also enjoy watching sports especially football and darts and occasionally travelling to London to support my favourite team Tottenham. A fun fact about me is that when I was a lot younger I used to model darts T-shirts for Phil Taylor which is sort of my claim to fame I guess!
If you were stuck on a desert island, which film, TV show and album would you want with you?
If I were stuck on a desert island I would want the film Happy Gilmore the original with me, I would have to say The Hunger Games series as the books I would like to bring with me and finally the album that I would want to bring with me would be F1 Trillion by Post Malone
