What influenced you to study and practice Osteopathy?
My journey into Osteopathy began a couple of years before my university education when I shadowed a local Osteopath. This valuable experience provided insights into effective treatment approaches, alongside advancing his patient communication skills. It was a hands-on introduction to the practical aspects of the field, and witnessing the Osteopath’s ability to not only treat but communicate effectively with patients left a lasting impact on me. This early exposure played a significant role in shaping my decision to pursue Osteopathy as a career.
Where did you study Osteopathy?
I studied Osteopathy at the University of Swansea and graduated with a master’s degree. In my final year as an Osteopathy student, I gained practical experience by working in an NHS clinic. During this time, I successfully treated a variety of patients spanning different age groups and activity levels. This hands-on experience allowed me to enhance my repertoire of Osteopathic techniques, incorporating a combination of soft tissue work, joint mobilisation, and self-help exercises to alleviate pain.

What is your treatment style?
My treatment style revolves around a structural holistic approach, with a primary focus on joint movements and soft tissue. I found success in addressing the body as a whole, considering the interconnectedness of various structures and systems. By incorporating techniques that target both joints and soft tissues, I aim to optimise functionality and relieve pain. This approach allows for a comprehensive assessment and treatment, recognising that the well-being of one part of the body can impact the entire system. I focus on a patient-centered approach, tailoring treatments to individual needs and considering lifestyle factors to promote long-term health and well-being.
Tell us something about yourself
I’ve been a regular at the gym from a young age and began my jiujitsu training a year ago. So, I’m quite familiar with the odd sporting injury, which sparked an interest in further understanding and preventing reoccurring injuries related to muscles, tendons, and ligaments.
